Conclusion

Hypothesis 1: I predicted that the educational programs that an individual of a racial minority encounters as a child, is the strongest factor when determining their perceptions and participations of natural resources as an adult. However, due to the large number of variables in our question regarding activities experienced as a child, and the low number of responses some of those variables received, Qualtrics was unable to obtain a p-value to describe the relationship of early education exposure to natural resources, and the individual's natural resource involvement as an adult. Therefore, this part of my hypothesis cannot be determined and would require further analyses in the future.

Hypothesis 2: a lack of diversity in a group will impact the participation of other individuals in that racial minority group. This hypothesis was proven to be true when we were able to analyze the results of the deterrents to natural resources question. Unfortunately, due to the problem stated above, we could not obtain a p-value regarding this relationship. However,  6.74% of the non-white respondents indicated that a lack of diversity in the participants was a deterrent for their participation. None of the white respondents indicated that lack of diversity among participants was a deterrent for them.
